This product is exactly what I needed to fully enjoy my SE w580i’s walkman and stereo FM capabilities.

    Unfortunately it is very flimsy.

For a daily commuter, the average durability is less than a month.

I have already bought 6 units but cannot find a better quality product.

I bought this for my W580i and my daughter’s W810i. I needed a shorter adapter when I am running and using a sports oriented headphones which has a long cord; the stock headphones won’t stay put in my ears. The adapter works perfectly; I don’t have 2 meters of cords to manage while running anymore.

The only feature I wish it has is the built-in microphone of the original adapter. The phone’s mic is disabled while the adapter is plugged in.

For its price and intended purpose, it’s definitely a good buy.

Received the product on time. However the plastic clips wore out after just a few days and the connector won’t stay cliped into the phone now. Very disappointed. Would not recommend product

Although this item accomplishes its intended purpose, it does not do so without flaw. I can’t complain, since it cost less than $5 shipped, but for anyone interested in purchasing this, know that it has a few minor issues. First, the fit is a little snug, both at the connection to the phone and at the headphone jack. Over time, the phone connection has loosened up a little, but I did worry at first that I might damage my phone with this device. I still worry that I’ll strip the gold plating off of my headphones with excessive use. That said, no damage has occurred to this point. I also worry a little about the strength of the short length of wire, as it is very thin and weak-looking. Again, no damage yet, but there is some reason for concern. The only other gripe I have about this is that the sound quality is a little lacking. Music is a little quieter coming through this than through the handsfree device that came with the phone, and the sound is definitely less rich, but that’s much less noticeable once the volume is increased. All in all, it was worth the money, since I didn’t pay much, and because it doesn’t have a call button for me to accidentally bump. It’s also nice to have less wire to deal with, so I don’t have to use the short-wire headphones that came with the phone or tie off extra wire. All in all, worth the price, but don’t expect too much.

As soon as I got it, it seemed flimsy, it does not work with a mic/headset and after using it about 4 times it broke. The pins became very loose and yes I know how to remove it properly like the rest of the sony adapters.

    DO NOT BUY!
