Nokia Morph Concept (long)
Morph is a concept demonstrating some of the possibilities nanotechnologies might enable in future communication devices. Morph can sense its environment, is energy harvesting and self cleaning . Morph is a flexible two-piece device that can adapt its shape to different use modes. Nanotechnology enables to have adaptive materials yet rigid forms on demand. It is also featured in the MoMA online exhibition “Design and the Elastic Mind”. It has been a collaboration project of Nokia Research Center and Cambridge Nanoscience Center. omg is great O:
woww <3
We will probably have this type of technology much sooner than most people anticipate. If technology were to increase linearly at it’s current rate it would probably take 80 or so years; however technology is increasing at an exponential rate. Ray Kurzweil addresses this in an essay on the Law of Accelerating Returns. While I find his predictions to be a bit optimistic, it’s still amazingly informative look at a possible future.
badass
Superhydrophobic? It has rabies??
@darkwedder Nope, feeling what feels suspiciously like ASBEST CANCER.
Anyway, all the microscopic footage they showed here looked suspiciously un-tuby. But perhaps they are even smaller, I dunno about that.
I want one of those.
In a different colour, that is. Why is everything monochrome in the future?
now there’s a concept
That is at least 80 in the future probably even more if not only a dream
Is it not just fascinating what we can create, today, without oil dependency?
Unfortunately, this technology will never hit commercialization.
3 realities which will take either a global disaster, or a revolution:
- sustainability: there is no way to build long-term profits from this product; durable, rechargeable and fashionable.
- Independence: Consumers/populations will be independent with the current “order” of life. This is not good for politicians as your tax dollars are levied less heavily on “energy” and more on REAL problems (lol).
- Oil wont let free energy exist. This is a rule of thumb.
@liekkis whahah
better not leave that on the table, i steal it mofo
@liekkis and is it a good idea to microwave this?
Take that, Apple!
soon the nanotechnology will take over the world and the streets will flow with th blood of ne non-believers!!! ahem.
self cleaning, brains eating, ergonomic shape locking (results may vary).
how about breathing those super durable nano tubes in?
feeling healthy?
@liekkis nope! nanostracture can handle that easily
With nanotechnology like this we won’t be far off not needing a phone at all. We will be post-human. Just think and the cell phone in your mind will dial… or just share rudimentary sampled impulses in our neural network, merging with others in some global peer-to-peer digital ether.
In time this woman would be considered a neo-luddite.
love it!
music sounds like zero 7
whoa…i wish im stil alive by d tym dis fone gets on d market in d normal price tag affordable to common people…
wooooooooow cool
does anybody know what font is used in the first word morph ? or doeas anybody know how and where to get that sort of font ? ? ??
help, thank u
ALL THINGS MADE In CHINA…
